With more than 10 years of experience, our platforms are field tested all over the world in multiple environments (tropical forests, bare soils, moutains, rivers, coast lines, open-pit mines, power lines).

Located in Montpellier, an attractive city in the South of France, YellowScan’s headquarters is right in the heart of the European Union, with good transportation connections in all directions.

Our history
2005
L’Avion Jaune is founded in 2005 by three engineers with scientific and surveying background.
Its principal mission is to develop aerial high-end imagery services in France.
2012
Creation of the YellowScan User Club to ensure developments are in line with user needs.
YellowScan developments started in 2012 led by Tristan Allouis and Michel Assenbaum, PhD engineers with UAV, LiDAR, and forestry expertise.
YellowScan’s main mission is to design, develop and produce drone imaging sensor systems for professionals across the world.
2013
YellowScan first prototypes are tested in various conditions for various applications using various aerial platforms.
2014

Commercial launch of YellowScan’s very first product, the Mapper/LR which won the Innovation Award that year.

2015
The official founding year of YellowScan SAS with its headquarters in the South of France. It was all possible thanks to the fundraising help from Melies Business Angels & Capitole Angels. International expansion.
2016
Commercial launch of the YellowScan Surveyor, the lightest and most versatile UAV LiDAR solution.

2017
Commercial launch of the LiveStation software enabling live visualization of the pointcloud.
Commercial launch of the Mapper II with improved accuracy and direct georeferencing workflow.

2018

Opening of YellowScan Inc. in Salt Lake City: a US based company, closer to the American users’ needs.
Commercial launch of the YellowScan Surveyor Ultra.
Commercial launch of the YellowScan Vx series.

2019
Commercial launch of the CloudStation, a complete software to create and manipulate point-cloud data.
Commercial launch of the Fly & Drive, a multi-platform LiDAR for geospatial survey scanning from air to ground.
YellowScan also continues to expand in Asia with a new subsidiary in Japan.

Commercial launch of the VX-15+ and VX-20+.
Release of a new strip adjustment module in the YellowScan CloudStation® software.
