I am really satisfied with the results of YellowScan Vx15 capabilities on large areas. For example yesterday I covered 250ha in just 4h30, included 2 trips. We had to stop because it was going to rain, but I am convinced that we could have easily reached the 400ha! I have just finished the project this morning, we’ve ended to map 1100ha of terrain with relief and palm plantation. Yesterday was the top record with 370ha in 9 flights!
The mission was a last-minute and urgent request. The simplicity and efficiency of the LiDAR system really allowed us to optimize the deployment of the team and our time in the field. The software part also proved itself: thanks to YellowScan Cloudstation I was able to export 630ha of corrected data that could be used by the client in only 2 hours! We were therefore able to deliver the files before we even got back on the plane.
The client is amazed, although they are also UAV LiDAR service providers. Their own UAV LiDAR broke down during the mission so they asked me to finish for them. I had used their services in 2019 for a LiDAR contract (after that, I made the decision to have my own LiDAR mapping system) which is why they subcontracted to me today. They have a LiDAR system XXXX from COMPANY YYYY, one of your competitor. When they saw how I proceeded compared to their workflow they completely hallucinated. According to their explanations, the use of LiDAR system XXXX is a hell: the batteries must be changed after each flight, the antenna is enormous and weighs more than a 1kg, not to mention the data processing which is a nightmare. My system made them dream (suddenly I’m a little afraid that they want to buy one too 😉 ).
